![]() Arlene grew up in Harlem NY, after her family relocated from Jamaica WI. Her voice performances began in Jamaica, at school where she participated in a the Arden High School Choral Speaking Choir, and was a Scripture reader and soloist in her church. Her last year at Stitt Junior High School she was chosen for the Lead in the Performing Arts Department production of The Sound of Music. Adulthood helped her decide to study Voice Over as a part time career goal. Her studies began at the Queens Broadcast Center Vocational center in Queens, NY. Many years later she relocated to Georgia from California, and attended the Atlanta Broadcast Institute. To enhance her knowledge of Radio and Television. And did an internship at WYZE as a Morning News Reporter on the Reggie Gay Show. After which she had her own show “ Gospel Music Then and Now” at WGOV Atlanta. Briefly interned as a PSA announcer at WRFG Atlanta community radio. Reading books as a volunteer at the San Diego Radio Reading Service. Volunteer reader at the Emeritus Senior Home in Carlsbad CA. The Sojourner Truth Project presently uses her recording of the Sojourner Truth Speech in classrooms. Poetry reading appearances include: Reid Cofer Public Library, The Gail Moss TeleMic Poetry Month Show. Tea With Tina Live poetry readings. A Speaker and in the Daughters of Praise FaceBook The Larry Love Show, Vertikal Life Magazine. To the Point Live on Sensational Sounds Radio. The C. Nathaniel Brown Show on BlogTalk Radio She is the “VOTS” voice of the Urban Sound Suite, creating radio imaging reordings for DJ Matt Houston in the UK. Those shows are heard on Sensational Sounds Radio. Where she is the Resident Voice Over Artist. Vertical Life Magazine created an App for their Vertikal Reading Room program . Author Barbara Berry's “Clothes Line Blues” was narrated on the App. The Poetry Corner was created and poetry submitted by authors and her poetry were voiced on special occasion programs she produced. The VRR App was a means of exposure for Music Artist and Authors. Her first book entitled “Hanging Out In The Quiet was published in 2017. It is presently being transformed into a podcast called “Quiet Moments” for PodTalk Radio. Two (2) of her Essays were Published in compilations “Dear Depression” and Reflections On Purpose” Her other creations in acrylic paintings, oil and media artwork will be presented at the Mark Squared Studios in GA in August 2019. Her Children remain her Inspiration & Encouragement She resides with her Husband in Atlanta GA. |
