Kamdon has a wide-ranging portfolio of art and design projects. After graduating with an BFA in graphic design and painting, she went on to create logos, design coloring books, illustrate, flip houses, work with interior designers on assorted projects, and was the on set artist for “Mom and ME” on HGTV. That’s when Kamdon realized that creating was her greatest passion. Through art, books, and designs, she utilizes her love and talent for taking the mere essence of an idea and translating that into living, breathing, splashes of vivid, whimsical tales for everyone to enjoy! Kamdon lives in the bustling mountain town of Bend, Oregon. Her home, she lovingly calls, "The Ranch," is shared with her two children, four dogs, and five chickens. When Kamdon is not designing on location or illustrating in my studio, you will still likely find her covered in paint--or fabric swatches, or cake icing, as her desire to create is an ongoing, daily matter of importance! (Tidiness, however, is not.) As a writer herself, Madison brings a unique perspective to the editing process and understands the importance of maintaining an author’s voice and style while making improvements that will help the work-in-progress stand out and be its best. Through her business The Inkwell Edit, she offers various levels of edits aimed at aiding fellow writers on their journeys to publication, whether they choose to go the traditional, indie, or self-publishing route. Within her creative pursuits, Madison’s love of fantasy and historical fiction has led her to write primarily fantasy-inspired novels, with an adult fantasy novel and a Middle Grade historical fiction novel with fantasy elements both underway. She also expresses her love of writing and reading through her literary site House of Cadmus. Proofreading: Proofreading is the final step that ensures the quality of your work before it goes out to readers. It's a surface level edit that corrects spelling, punctuation, grammar, formatting, and word use. Proofreading sharpens your writing and ensures you're delivering the reading experience you want to bring to your audience. No project is complete without it. Copyediting: Copyediting is a deeper look at your writing. In addition to proofread corrections, a copyedit will look at more technical issues while creating a style guide specific to you, verifying basic facts, ensuring any design elements or graphics are consistent and formatted correctly, and flagging inconsistencies and trademark or copyright issues that could arise. All copyedit corrections are made while maintaining your unique style and voice within your writing. Line Editing: Line editing is an even deeper dive into perfecting your manuscript that focuses on elevating your writing. Where proofreading and copyediting address technical aspects of writing, line editing is a more stylistic edit that addresses the impact and reading experience of your writing by editing for tone, style, clarity, impact, and flow. Line by line, your writing will be enhanced and strengthened, always preserving your style and voice.
